Concrete solutions for a clean future
"Economic development and the transformation towards a low carbon economy and society go hand in hand. Key is the efficient identification and deployment of proven sustainable technologies, enabled through new and innovative finance mechanisms." - Christian Häuselmann, GCCA Chairman
The Global Cleantech Cluster Association (GCCA) envisions to drive sustainable regional economic development on a global scale. Already 50 Cleantech clusters from across the world joined GCCA, representing 10’000 companies. As a meta-cluster GCCA provides access to capital, corporates and markets with a focus on business model and finance innovation. Goal is to develop scalable, new financial mechanisms that allow Cleantech Clusters and companies to engage with institutional investors, e.g. pension funds. Like Solar Impulse, GCCA is drawing attention to the tremendous business and environmental potential of clean technologies on a local and global level. GCCA shares the vision and supports the #FUTUREISCLEAN campaign.
Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are attempting the first round-the-world solar flight, an adventure to promote the use of clean technologies.
Clean technologies used on the solar aircraft could be used on the ground and reduce 50% of our world’s energy consumption... as of today. But for this, we need political courage and pioneering spirit.
We launched the #futureisclean initiative to create a federation of organizations pushing the replacement of old polluting devices by existing clean technologies.
Just like onboard Solar Impulse, solutions already exist to reduce energy consumption. We have gathered 357 organizations around this initiative. Some of them sent the solutions they wanted to promote at COP21.
The vote is now over, here are the top 5 solutions you voted for!
