Concrete solutions for a clean future
CLIC! recognizes the iportance that COP21 has for the environment and how its outcome is going to help shape the environmental future of our planet. As youth we are going to inherit the consequences of these decisions, so we believe on our active involvement to ensure they are going to be good ones. Future is Clean represents the importance clean energies have on achieving this goal as a campaign that looks further and works in propositions to achieve a cleaner future for as all. Additionally we believe that our society and economics are changing into allowing the presence of renewables but the decisions makers are having a bad time realizing it. In consequence being Future is Clean a propositional campaign we are happy to support it as it reflects our wants. - Andrea Cantillo, communications coordination.
CLIC! is the youth latinamerican and caribbean youth movement on climate change. Our work structure is based on having local, national and regional incidence. We aim to empower young people and connect them in order to work aligned in similar projects brought to each country reality aditional to their own lines of work. We have propositional activism where we aim to integrate the different climate stakeholders in order to facilitate work and the merge of shared objectives. Also, we share information and knowledge between the different organizations that are part of the movement, leading and facilitating meetings, workshops, working groups and seminaries. Lastly, we generate incidence in the lobbies where the public politics are generated in our local or national governments, giving the youth perspective.
Bertrand Piccard and André Borschberg are attempting the first round-the-world solar flight, an adventure to promote the use of clean technologies.
Clean technologies used on the solar aircraft could be used on the ground and reduce 50% of our world’s energy consumption... as of today. But for this, we need political courage and pioneering spirit.
We launched the #futureisclean initiative to create a federation of organizations pushing the replacement of old polluting devices by existing clean technologies.
Join Bertrand Piccard’s approach to show that climate change is not an expensive problem requiring heavy financial and behavioral sacrifices, but rather a unique opportunity for profit and job creation:
Just like onboard Solar Impulse, solutions already exist to reduce energy consumption. We have gathered 357 organizations around this initiative. Some of them sent the solutions they wanted to promote at COP21.
